Welcome to the Official Crossbones Software website!

Crossbones Software currently provides custom Android ROMs built off of Google’s AOSP Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) code.  Project goals are to provide a completely unique user experience while maintaining maximum stability and performance.

Crossbones ROM is currently in the beta stage of development.  We are working hard to build unique features to make the Crossbones experience more enjoyable for the user.  Please keep in mind that we are in beta stage of development, and new features will be added to each release.

There are very few features that aren’t written by our developers.  If we do incorporate a feature created by an outside developer, credit is always given properly in our github, which is open to the public for anyone to view and use for their own projects.  We encourage other projects to use our code in their projects, providing that proper credit is given.

If you need support for the ROM, please either view our threads on RootzWiki or XDA. You can also email us at support@xbones.org but please only email us if you encounter an extremely high priority bug.  Most general issues/inquiries can be found on out threads on the websites above.

If you are interested in helping us with our project, please feel free to submit patches to Mike via email at mike@xbones.org. Proper credit/authorship is always given.

Crossbones 0.3.2 released for Sprint Galaxy Nexus

Since Sprint has finally released their Galaxy Nexus, we have put together Crossbones ROM for the device.  It is based on android-4.0.4_r1.2 and includes Crossbones-Tuna-Kernel 0.1.0.

Since this is the first release for this device, it’s possible there may be some things that don’t work 100% just yet.  If you encounter any issues, please email support@xbones.org and I’ll get back to you ASAP.

It is available for download from the Sprint Galaxy Nexus page!

Crossbones updated to 0.3.1

We encountered an issue when flashing the ROM on a device with the latest version of TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) installed where the flash would fail.  This was caused by the first line of the updater-script to be something TWRP was not expecting.  This update is simply to address this issue which was particularly important with our integration with GooManager.

You can download updates for all the devices: Nexus S | Nexus S 4G | Verizon Galaxy Nexus CDMA
